Tivoli Park in Denmark is one of the oldest, most beautiful and largest European parks. It is located in the very heart of Copenhagen, close to the Andersen Monument and the City Hall.
For the first time, it was opened in 1843, and for 180 years it has remained the most magical, fabulous and gorgeous place in Copenhagen for the rest and entertainment.
There you can find 26 attractions, but during the Christmas celebrations and Halloween their number increases. This is a very popular place: every year it is visited by 4 -7 million people from all over the world. Tivoli is open for 5 months a year.
The most popular of all the attractions is a Roller Coaster and a boutique-hotel Nimb, looking like the magnificent Taj Mahal.
If you are going to fully enjoy the Tivoli Park, plan to spend there at least 5 or 6 hours, and do it in the afternoon. In the evening the park comes alive and shows its beauty: all the buildings and paths of the garden are highlighted; various shows take place there.
The park’s founder Johan Bernhard Georg Carstensen told that Tivoli would never be built in a complete way. And he was right: only the lake remains the same, while the park around it continues to enlarge, new buildings and entertainment appear.
Since the very beginning, the park has had a lot of diversity: the railway, theaters, carousels, flower gardens having a nice scent. Carstensen lived in the Middle East countries for a long time, so he brought an eastern Moorish style to Tivoli.
Now in the park, there are almost 30 different entertainment shows, among them the games for kids and adults. Any visitor can find something interesting.
For me, the brightest impression of visiting Tivoli was the beautiful flowers and amazingly poetic night light show over the lake.
