In Honduras, near San Pedro Sula, there is an amazing place: beautiful Lake Yojoa. Locals and tourists come here for a measured rest, the beauty of nature, and fresh air filled with floral aromas.
Lake Yojoa has a status of the resort area. But, despite this, it is impossible to find noisy clubs, luxury hotels, or bars working until the morning. Everything here is modest, natural, and closely intertwined with nature. However, there are beautiful meadows, dense forests, impassable thickets, and the surface of a huge number of lakes, the main of which is Lake Yojoa.
Of course, it is very interesting to observe the local fauna. Most of all there are exotic birds - more than three hundred species. Feathered inhabitants are not afraid of people. Sometimes they even come close to guests or fly low over a group of tourists in a whole flock.
You can also go on an interesting tour from the Lake Yojoa nature reserve. For example, go to coffee farms, see how coffee grows, how grains are collected and processed. There you can also try different varieties of this wonderful drink.
Another entertainment is a trip to the local waterfalls. To reach them, you will need to go through two villages, coffee plantations, and several difficult paths through the jungle. But, in the end, guests will get a big reward: the opportunity to swim in the lakes located next to the waterfalls or go to the caves that are hidden by the falling streams of water.
It is important to remember that Lake Yojoa is a conservation area. Therefore, there are certain rules of behavior and requirements for staying. For example, you can only get there as part of an organized group. It is strictly forbidden to litter and harm the environment. Each misdemeanor is punishable by substantial fines. Some especially dangerous actions can be considered a criminal offense.
