There are some common-known Italian islander which the majority of tourists prefer to visit on their vacations like Sicilia or Sardegna. But there are, though, other picturesque places worth visiting and here are some of them:
1. Capri
The island of Capri is one of the most luxurious Italian islands. A lot of world-known poets and artists devoted their works to this magical and mysterious place. Ancient romans called it Paradise because of the warm sea, exotic plants and incredible sights. The most popular attraction here is Grotta azzurra, but also it is famous for Giardini di Augusto and the city of Faraglioni. Moreover, the Capris kitchen is mostly specialized on different cheeses so if you are fond of cheese there isn't any better place for you. But keep in mind that usually there are a lot of tourists here and the crowd sometimes can be really annoying so it’s important to choose right time for visiting.
2. Ischia
Ischia, the biggest island in the Neapolitan gulf, is famous for its termal parks with magical mud which is able to recover people from illnesses, rejuvenate and cope with stress. Despite its chic and uniqueness, it’s very calm and quite comparing to the other cultural resorts so it’s more suitable for family holidays. One of the most shocking facts is that there are three volcanoes in the middle of Ischia and tourists really adore campaigns on their slopes. Other popular attractions are Giardini la mortella and Castello Aragonese. All in all, the island of Ischia is perfect calm-lovers.
3. Elba
Elba is a little charming island for both serene and cognitive rest. It has a reach history (Napoleone Bonaparte once was exiled to the Elbas capital city - Portoferraio) which all the guides are crazy about. And its landscape is really amazing: the sea is sparkling with all the shades of blue, the hills slopes are covered with exotic green plants and the diversity of relief amaze all the tourists. Despite the size of Elba, the island is so replete that it seems sometimes that it’s divided into several different worlds. The favorite places of tourists here are Monte Capanne, Piazza della Repubblica and so on.
All in all, Italia is not only Rome and Sisilia. There is a plenty of different interesting places for any type of tourists and anyone can find something for himself.
